MLB Picks, August 15th

There are a couple of games worth a look today.

$15 on Philadelphia (Halladay) over Miami (Buehrle) -1 1/2 @ +$120
Roy "Doc" Halladay takes the ball for the Phils this afternoon, bringing a 2-1 record and a 1.71 ERA in his last three starts to the contest. The Marlins start Mark Buehrle, a southpaw slinger that has struggled recently, going 0-3 with a 7.18 ERA in his last 5 outings. The Phillies have won 4 of their last 5 games while the Fish have dropped 19 of 27. One note of caution, the Phillies haven't fared well against leftys, posting a 14-22 record.
$15 on LA Dodger (Kershaw) over Pittsburgh (Rodriguez) -1 1/2 @ +$120
Clayton Kershaw gets the nod for the Dodgers today, facing the Pirates recent addition from the Astros, Wandy Rodriguez. Kershaw is 10-6 this season with a 2.88 ERA. He's been even tougher lately, going 3-0, 1.21 in his last three trips to the bump. Rodriguez hasn't settled into his new surroundings yet, posting a 0-2 record with a 4.74 ERA in his last three outings. LA has won 7 of their last 10 games and Pittsburgh has lost 5 0f 6. The Dodgers are 5-0 against the Pirates this season.
