Opening Day!

"Opening Day is the beginning of a new Major League Baseball season. It falls around the beginning of April, signaling such a generational feeling of rebirth for some that the writer Thomas Boswell once penned a book titled, Why Time Begins On Opening Day. Many feel that the occasion represents a newness or a chance to forget last season, in that the 30 major league clubs and their millions of fans begin with 0-0 records."- Anon.

For me, an Astros fan, it's quite likely the only day my team will share a portion of first place. But Opening Day signals the end of a long winter and the beginning of spring. It's 39 degrees in the Heart of Texas this morning, but will be in the 80's this afternoon. Springtime weather.

Summer's comin'!

Till next time, win the flips.

  1. Hmmm ... I trust you do not have the same fond memories of the 2005 World Series that I have ...

Opening Day is always great -- like a giant rebirth for all baseball fans. My White Sox will be starting in Cleveland ... if the grounds crew gets the three inches of snow off the field, of course.

  3. Are you in a fantasy baseball league? Baseball is fun just as is, but even more fun to me if I do the fantasy thing.

  4. @ MOJO- I've done the fantasy thing for several seasons, but opted not to do it this year due to time constraints. Hopefully I can hop on that horse again next season.
