The Heat Continues

No, this isn't a duplicate post. This one is about our continued miserable weather.

I wrote a post a couple of weeks ago about how hot it had been in the heart of Texas this summer. Neo commented that he remembered how awful the heat was when he lived in Dallas in 1980. That was the year the record was set for the most consecutive 100 degree plus days.

Until today. Our 104 degree high today made it 43 consecutive days. The last rain I saw was when Ms. Duck and I were in Vegas a little over a month ago. That's right, it's so dry here that we have to go to the desert to see rain! The crops have all pretty much burned up, with the corn crop being baled for cattle feed.

We haven't beaten the record for most overall days above 100, which was also set in 1980 at 63 days. We're currently sitting at 60 days.

The extended forecast? Seven more days of 100+ with no rain.

Sheeesh.

  3. @ MOJO- The traffic feed is new. I like it and think I'll keep it up for a while.

@ VJ- Yeah, I like the heat too, but I'm just worn down right now, and it seems there's no end in sight.

You were the first to "link" my blog when I started. I have always appreciated it and will never forget it :) Thanks!
