MLB Picks- Season Wrap Up

Another MLB season came to an end last night with the Red Sox hoisting the trophy. Quite a turnaround for them from a year ago.

Although last night's bet was a push, I managed to book another winning season, which is always a good thing!

Spring training is only 4 months away. For those who are interested, the Dodgers are the early favorite to win it all next year, paying 5-1. Detroit is 8-1, St. Louis 10-1, and Boston 12-1.

I'm not sure what the odds are on my Astros, but I'll have to assume they're a little longer than the ones listed here.  Oh well, hope springs eternal.

Hockey Picks, October 15th

The Blackhawks are going for their third Stanley Cup in five years. Can you say dynasty?

My track record picking winners in all the other major sports (baseball, football, basketball) is good, having never had a losing season. However, I can't say the same for hockey. Last year was my first season picking hockey games and it was not successful. I was able to figure a few things out as the season wore on and actually showed a nice profit the last couple of months. After bottoming out in mid April with a $423 loss, I was able to recover and finish with a much smaller $86 deficit. Hopefully I'll be able to continue the upward trend this season, but you might want to proceed with caution following my hockey picks until I prove myself :)

The Duck Dynasty gang ain't gonna like this one. Texas State is 2-0 at home this season, beating their opponents by an average of 23 points. The visiting Warhawks only score 9+ PPG on foreign soil and surrender 41. Not good. The Bobcats are 6-3 ATS in their last 9 and La-Monroe is 1-6 in their last 7 ATS. Coach should be happy when this one ends :)
