Cancer.
It affects every person in one way or another.
I watched my father die almost 13 years ago from lung cancer. Trust me, it wasn't a pretty sight.
Today, my mother was diagnosed with the same disease. The doctor took a biopsy last Friday and during the procedure her lung collapsed. They had to insert a chest tube to get her lung re-inflated, and she ended up spending two nights in the hospital.
She has an appointment with an oncologist on Monday at MD Anderson in Houston. I'm sure they will run more tests to see if the cancer has spread. Then a protocol will be planned and treatment will begin.
Today was not a good day.
Cancer sucks.
I'm sorry to hear this and hope it works out. My mom is a cancrr survivor so I know what you're going through.
ReplyDeleteThanks MOJO.
DeleteI'm so sorry, friend. Sending you good thoughts.
ReplyDeleteThank you G-Man.
DeleteSo sorry to read this, Lucki. I left a voice mail message for you. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
ReplyDeleteGot your VM last night. I can't tell you how much I appreciate you taking the time to call. You're okay in my book, I don't care what Josie says :)
DeleteSorry to hear the shitty news. Cancer can kiss my big ass.
ReplyDeleteAnd my skinny one.
Deletesorry to hear this
ReplyDeleteThank you Waffles.
DeleteDad had lung cancer; Mom had brain. He went gracefully; she didn't. Even then, it as hard or harder on those left. Now all you can do is stay strong for her as she always did for you. That sucks. But it is what we do.
ReplyDeleteYeah Ken, I'm definitely in a support roll here. I'm hoping the doc will make her feel better about the situation when she sees him next week. Hope is something you need to have to fight the good fight.
DeleteI'm very sorry to hear that Lucki. It's good she can go to MD Anderson as they are the best. I'll be praying for your mom. Hope she is as lucky as I was
ReplyDeleteThanks Neo. I didn't realize you had been down that road before. Glad you came out the other side in good shape.
