Wildfires in Texas

I've posted a couple of times about how hot and dry it has been in central Texas this summer. As a matter of fact, we are now north of 80 days of 100 degree temperatures this year in Waco, and have not had any rain since June.

Yesterday the winds picked up to around 30-40 mph. Add a match and extremely dry conditions and this is what you get.

This scene is about 100 miles south of my home. So far, approximately 350 homes have been destroyed and thousands have been evacuated.

I've lived in Texas for over 45 years and have never seen it this bad.

And no rain in the seven day forecast :(

  1. You guys could have used that tropical storm to come ashore around Corpus Christi instead of in New Orleans. Let's hope something changes in the weather real soon.
