Poker and Oil Gushers
As someone who grew up in the Beaumont, Texas area, I would be remiss if I didn't wish everyone a Happy Spindletop Day! Celebrate by filling your tank with some $3 plus gas.
Our monthly tournament for a seat in this summer's WSOP is tomorrow. With only four tourneys left, I have a 16 point lead on third place (two seats are awarded). The maximum points per tournament is 10, so my "magic number," (to use a baseball term) is 25 points.
Obviously, I will play cautiously in the beginning and hope a few players fall on their swords.
Tonight at the Duck Blind we have our PokerPalozza, which is a dealer's choice limit game with a $20 buy in.
Reports on both to follow.
Till next time, win the flips.

FACTOID: It is projected that the U.S. will become the world's largest oil producer by 2020. Move over Texas. Hello North Dakota.
LOL.
DeleteBev isn't in the league, but I'll pass your well wishes along anyway.
As a Texan, I'd gladly surrender the top spot to the Dakotas to see energy prices go down. Unfortunately, I think that may be a ways down the road :(
DeleteSadly, much of the reasoning to expand search/production is based on raising prices. I have no idea what fracking/lateral-drilling add to the cost other than it is now in an economical range. It similar to the old wells in Texas that weren't economical to try to increase production on when gas was .30 but were reworked and came back online as price rose.
DeleteBummer, eh?
You have put yourself in a great position for that WSOP seat. Don't lightning ... uh ... donk yourself out early! gl gl gl
ReplyDeleteThank you sir.
DeleteAnd thank you for all those chips last night in the Dank :)
