Ms. Duck, Sonny Boy, M2, her fiancee' and I all headed to a family reunion yesterday that was located about 45 minutes southwest of Austin.
I dreaded the drive, mainly because the traffic is horrible on a normal day and I figured it would be even worse on a holiday weekend, especially going thru Austin.
I had heard about the new toll road, just opened east of the city and decided to give it a whirl. I have to say, I was impressed. Especially by this sign. . .
Zoom, zoom!
Nice - I wish I could see some of them around here!
ReplyDeleteYep, "Welcome to Texas, we encourage y'all to drive like a bat out of hell" I do miss driving in Texas.
ReplyDeleteLOL! Don't understand why the state wastes the time and money posting speed limit signs. No one seems to pay much attention to them :)
DeleteThat's is the front porch from Deliverence isn't it. How many banjo players?
ReplyDeleteActually, nice, prolific group.
LOL! I counted 37 people in the photo. That's a full set of teeth in the backwoods of Texas, plus a few :)
DeleteActually, there are two doctorates, half a dozen masters degrees, an international sales manager for a major company, and a couple of business owners sitting on the porch. It's amazing we've had time to be prolific!
In addition, the man who owns the house made his fortune helping finance Enron Field (now Minute Maid Park) in Houston.
Maybe I should have left the last part out :)
