Close, but No Cigar

Although it's for pretend chips, I've enjoyed playing in several of the FTOPS tournaments, even winning the Main Event last summer.

I came close to winning one of their tourneys yesterday, but went card dead once heads up. Several times I would flop second pair (usually a strong hand HU), only to be shown top pair by my opponent.

I pushed an open-end straight draw on a 9-7-4 rainbow flop. Of course the villain had a nine, leaving me drawing to a 5 or 10 to complete my straight. Neither came and I settled for runner up.

Dang!

Till next time, win the flips.
